Branch lecture 2009.
The annual branch lecture will take place at the Leeds Art Gallery on a date, and with a speaker still to be decided.
Palm Sunday, April 5th 2009.
Towton Hall.
The branch will be present at the commemoration of the Battle of Towton. This event will include a living history camp, a walk of the battlefield for the energetic, displays of medieval weaponry, stalls and falconry. There will be a wreath laying on site at 1pm approximately.
Saturday December 27th 2008
Sandal Castle, Wakefield
The branch will be present at the annual commemoration of the Battle of Wakefield, along with members of the Towton Battlefield Society. The event begins at the castle at 10am. A wreath will be laid at the Duke of York's statue, Manifold Lane in a short service at 2pm. Admission for this event is free.

Swan Players
Swan Players, an itinerant theatre group in North Yorkshire will be producing "Towton", a breathtaking play at the Carriageworks theatre in Leeds from 6 to 9 June. This will be the first time at the Carriageworks for the group, who have previously gained critical acclaim for their performances at both Harrogate Theatre and The Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York. The production creates a stunning and authentic theatrical experience that combines drama, action and special effects.
BATTLE OF WAKEFIELD COMMEMORATION Saturday December 30th 2006
On a very unsettled day the Battle of Wakefield was commemorated at Sandal Castle by the Yorkshire Branch of the Richard III Society, the Towton Battlefield Society and the Company of Palm Sunday.
RICHARD III SOCIETY MEMBERS' WEEKEND September/October 2006
The Society's members weekend was this year held in Richard's favourite city - York. Branch members were involved in or attended many of the activities in York to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the refounding of the Richard III Society.
MIDDLEHAM - BOSWORTH COMMEMORATION August 20th 2006
The Branch held its commemoration on the 20th of August at St Alkelda's church. Prior to the short ceremony most of the attendees enjoyed lunch at the Black Swan.
TOWTON COMMEMORATION SUNDAY 9TH APRIL 2006
This year the Branch had a stall at this annual event. It was an extremely cold day and those manning the stall, in a very draughty barn, suffered greatly for the cause! The usual walks took place as did the wreath laying ceremony.
HAREWOOD CASTLE: RUINED BUT NOT LOST
Yorkshire Branch Spring Lecture 8th April 2006
Our lecturer this year was Ed Dennison who runs an architectural archaeological consultancy firm. His firm were contracted to investigate the remaining structures of Harewood Castle. Ed gave a detailed account of the work undertaken and showed a large number of slides of areas not usually seen by the general public.
BATTLE of WAKEFIELD COMMEMORATION, 30 December 2005
It was with some trepidation that the Committee members prepared to travel to Sandal for the Branch remembrance for those who fell at the Battle of Wakefield 545 years ago, and in particular of Richard III's father, brother, relatives, and all Yorkist supporters.

It was another happy gathering of Branch members in York this year - again at the Black Swan, where we are always made so welcome by the proprietor Mr. Dobson.
YORKSHIRE BRANCH AGM SEPTEMBER 2005
The Branch held its AGM as usual at Wheatlands Hotel, York, in early September. The existing committee has been re-elected for 2005-6, with John Audsley as our Chairperson.
